Program
Overview
At Maestro Studios, students are
taught not only how to play their instrument, but also taught how to
learn. Students are given the tools they need to teach themselves
and discover new musical and artistic ideas. They are encouraged to explore their own
creativity and create art with their instrument.

Ear Training and Playing By Ear
The most famous and internationally-recognized method
for aural string training is the Suzuki Method. It is especially
effective among young children because if its emphasis on listening,
imitating, and parental involvement. Students of this method are taught to
play the instrument in much the same way that they are taught to speak.
The ability to play the instrument without the restraining aspect of
reading the music is very important, and will aid students in their quest
to create musical art.
Note Reading
The language of music is one of the most
brilliantly-devised languages in the world. The process of learning the
language is one that builds upon itself. Students tend to be surprised at
how quickly this written language begins to make sense, especially as it
associates with stringed instruments.
The Fusion
When a string player can play a tune by ear without ever
seeing one written note, as well as have the ability to create beautiful music solely from a
written page, that player is free of musical limitation. That is the goal.
